I’ve been super busy lately putting together my new artbook which will debut and be for sale at CTN Expo next month. Just about everything’s done, but tonight I’m working on some small tweaks on the cover image which I have been spending extra time on to get just right. While I’ll upload the whole thing tomorrow night, here’s a small snippet of a teaser of that cover image.

Hey All! Been super long since I posted really anything of significance and I feel shitty about that. That being said, this is a piece that’s pretty important to me. It’s the result of a Character Design workshop that I put together for the Kazone Art School in La Habra and Irvine a few weeks back where I presented a few interesting ideas in approach to character design and how to exercise your imagination. This post has all the images that I used in the presentation without the context, but the gist of it should be pretty clear…Come up with 3 unique variables for a character, number them 1 through 3, and weigh those factors differently in 6 separate executions so as to challenge yourself in pushing how you think about visual exploration.

I did two separate sets in preparation for the talk, but ended up focusing on “Mira the Time Bandita” because I felt she was the stronger of the two ideas (by far) and because she is named and modeled after my close friend @shillyshallysiobhan ’s cat. :)
